The new season is upon us, which can only mean one thing – KOIBIRD’s latest concept has arrived. While many are enjoying new-found freedom, it’s clear our post-pandemic selves have evolved to enjoy new pleasures and pursuits, and so, with that in mind, we’re pleased to introduce our AW21 edit, KOIBIRD Hosts a Party. Our concept looks to champion the life of the party and also the soul of the home – what’s not to love? There’s everything you need to be the perfect host; high octane glamorous wardrobes with minimal effort (simply slip on your velvet dress, slippers, add lipstick and you’re good to go), combined with kaleidoscopic homeware to curate the ultimate tablescapes and interiors.

Be it last minute gatherings or those ‘booked in the diary for months’ events, we’re here to ensure it, and you, induce elegance without a hitch. Joy-inducing interior objects such as squiggle candles, hand painted plates and colourful glassware evoke a humorous edge (even when discussion is lacking), and as for the wardrobe, it’s all about marrying the staple and the statement. Structured yet easy-to-wear tailoring, bold knits and an army of dresses featuring classic KOI twists - heart shaped cutouts, crystal bows and marabou feather trims.
As with all our new KOIBIRD concepts, our Marylebone store too has been transformed. Inspired by Hollywood Hill chinoiserie and the opulent decor of Tony Duquette and Dorothy Draper, a palette of rich plum, teal and dusty pink fills the space, contrasted with leopard print – a favourite in the KOI arsenal. Designed by Anna Burns, the spatial designer behind all our interiors, the keynote was “more is more.” Sumptuous curtains of velvet cascade from floor-to-ceiling and the black and white checked floor is a nod to Draper’s quintessentially modern baroque style. And if that wasn’t inviting enough, a large dining table dressed in a hand painted Luisa Longo tablecloth sits proudly at the centre of the store – enter and we bet you’ll be sitting asking for a canapé and cocktail in moments.
Home and wardrobe offering alike, the space reinforces that this is the season for overstatement. Because it’s not that we needed an excuse to party, but doesn’t it feel good to have one.
