Warmth is a priority in winter

Words like ‘big’, ‘bold’ and ‘beautiful’ are what we tend to be associated with here at KOIBIRD. But secretly – and particularly when it comes to our ski wear – we also love being practical. Because no matter how fabulous you look, feeling cold is never fun – neither atop a mountain nor in Marylebone (where you can find our wonderful store, hint hint).

You already know that coats keep you warm. So do hats, scarves, gloves and anything knitted, really. But the most convenient, stylish and least bulky way to keep warm? Wearing a base layer. Here are some we adore.

CORDOVA

The Cordova Seamless Ribbed Top

This Cordova base layer makes full use of Nilit® heat technology. Basically, it's not made from regular yarn, but yarn that includes charcoal created from coffee bean residue to keep you extra warm. Ingenious!

So, a big misconception about base layers is that they are boring. Well, they’re not. Not this one by FALKE, at least. Bright pink and subtly patterned, we love how it offers hand protection without hiding a fresh manicure. And, while we’ve never sweated in our lives, its odour-neutralising fabric is surely another plus.
