Coffee becomes a fixture on all my trips to Italy. Sant Eustacchio II Caffè is home to the Eternal City’s most sumptuous espresso. Grab a seat outside to people watch and pick up some beans to take home. On the other side of the city, Faro - Luminaries of Coffee is an equally suitable spot to indulge in an iced beverage (sacrilege or not! Try it)

Nothing compares to the cacio e pepe al tartufo at coveted La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali, a spot frequented by locals, tourists, and celebrities like Anne Hathaway and Bill Nighy alike. Across the street, the humble Alle Carrette offers tasty pizza best washed down with a local beer.

Rome is less pretentious than other Italian cities despite the otherworldly and imposingly beautiful architecture. A city break is best spent lounging, sipping a Negroni, between taking in the sights and shops. For me, a holiday wardrobe needs to be light and airy take on my personal style. Save the frills for when the sun goes down.
