Because you’ve still got several to attend

Words by Heather Gwyther

Weddings come hard and fast in summer. The long days and (mostly) good weather make it the perfect time for them. But as fun as they are, they’re also exhausting – especially if you’re averaging a wedding a week. And that’s before you even consider what to wear, which is obviously the most pressing issue of all.

Wedding guests can generally be split into two camps: outfit repeaters and outfit revolutionaries. The former invest in one magnificent dress for the season and call it a day. After all, summer weddings tend to roll into a single unidentifiable blob, so who cares if you wear the same outfit throughout?

For the latter, it’s a very different story. Yes, summer weddings might be a single unidentifiable blob of the same attendees and soaring levels of inebriation, but each one is an opportunity for self-expression (which is a lofty way of saying ‘an opportunity for a new outfit’).

Either way, the ideal wedding outfit is one that’ll take you beyond wedding season. Because – for the unengaged – what is wedding season for aside from a chance to go shopping?
